Nicole Williams is the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools, where she works with school leaders to ensure that all Lab students can thrive. Nicole developed a theory of action that centers the school’s priorities on a whole child perspective. Prior to joining the Lab Schools, Nicole was a Senior Research Analyst at the UChicago Consortium on School Research, where she co-organized a national network focused on equitable schooling experiences for historically marginalized students, the Building Equitable Learning Environments (BELE) network and conducted research looking at the classroom conditions that lead to belonging for the most marginalized students. She has a BA from Mount Saint Mary’s University in Los Angeles, and a MA and PhD from the Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice at the University of Chicago.
