Tasia VanderVegt is a sociology instructor at the Community College of Aurora in Colorado. She has a Master of Arts degree in Sociology from The New School for Social Research in New York City. She is dedicated to bringing inclusivity and equity into the classroom and creating educational opportunities for all students. She is active in CCA’s student honors program and is co-chair of the annual Confluence Conference which highlights the best student work from each academic year. She is also active in professional development for faculty and instructors at the college as a facilitator for the Excellence in Leadership Academy and the Association of College and University Educators. She was the 2018 Inclusive Excellence Instructor of the Year and in 2019 she was named the Community College of Aurora Instructor of the Year.
