Ray Cabrera is the Director of the University of South Florida Upward Bound Program in Tampa, Florida. He has been a TRIO leader for the last 12 years serving as Vice-President (11’-13’) and President (13’-15’) of Florida TRIO and is currently the Vice President of the Southeastern Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel (19’-21’) which represents TRIO throughout 8 states. Before becoming Vice President, he served as Treasurer of SAEOPP for two years (17’-19’) and was conference co-chair from 15’-17’. Prior to joining TRIO, Ray worked at Montclair State University in New Jersey in their Early Childhood Teacher Education program. His career includes 20 years of experience in counseling, college access, leadership, conference planning, evaluation, and professional development. Ray is a true professional who is continually updating his skills. Raymond attended Rutgers University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. From there he went on to pursue a Master of Arts degree in Counselor Education from Kean University in New Jersey. Currently, Mr. Cabrera is pursuing a Ph.D. in Counseling at USF.
