Prachee Kale is a Director in the Diverse Talent Management and Advancement organization at the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC), where she is responsible for planning and implementing the organization’s Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) strategy and development of a new talent advancement program. Prachee strongly believes in empowering people and leading inclusively to enhance group performance, foster collaboration and exceed client expectations. She has used her business background to redesign existing D&I processes, plan a complete restructure of employee resource groups, improve data transparency and develop media campaigns. She also creates opportunities for candid conversations and educating management. Most recently, she organized focus groups for 300 top talent females to hear about their experiences as women in the workplace and shared them with Senior Management for action. Furthermore, she has planned targeted trainings on topics of biases, advocacy and cultural competence for management employees.
In addition to her many responsibilities, Prachee also manages DTCC’s Corporate Social Responsibility and Philanthropy program.
In her prior role, Prachee was the Director of Strategy & Program Management within the Risk department, where she was responsible for Cybersecurity and Information Security initiatives. Leveraging the talents of her diverse team, she successfully implemented sound program and budget management practices, drove long overdue projects to completion, and significantly reduced budget spend.
Prachee spent a decade in strategy consulting for financial services firms where she focused on strategic business and technology transformations and regulatory requirements. An influencer and gifted conversationalist, Prachee has helped stakeholders navigate corporate governance boundaries, develop partnerships and manage change associated with high impact efforts.
Throughout her career, Prachee has actively engaged in efforts for gender advancement, diversity and inclusion. She developed D&I metrics for DTCC’s D&I council and the employee recognition program. While at EY, she was a founding team member of the Advancing Women Executives initiative for the Financial Services Office Advisory group and regularly spoke at campus collaborative events. At work, she mentors several professionals of all backgrounds. In her community service, Prachee volunteers as a coach and thought leader to organizations focused on first generation students and topics of higher education, belonging, college and career readiness.
Navigating her way through an intricate, oftimes stymying socio-economic system, Prachee is the first woman and first generation of her family to migrate out of India. Daughter of science PhDs, her mother an Environmental Scientist and father, a teacher and Professor of Cancer Research; education, service to others and a sustainable environment were top on the list of priorities. She grew up on campus in Jawaharlal Nehru University, one of India’s leading educational institutions known as much for its academic excellence and as its rich, diverse and progressive culture. Through attending open lectures, fierce student debates and frequent, dinner table conversations with scholars and academics, Prachee developed a keen interest in the subjects of gender, class, social mobility, religion, equality, inclusion, globalization and their complex interplay in society.
An adventurer at heart, Prachee is always ready for new experiences. Meeting people and hearing their stories energize her as do learning about their food, arts and culture. She lives in NYC and is often found strolling in the city or enjoying theater and live music. She supports the American Ballet Theater and is a member of the Junior Council. Prachee is an avid reader, loves to cook and will surely whip up something delicious whenever you visit.
She earned an M.S. in Bioinformatics from George Washington University and a B.S. in Information Technology from Delhi University. She has two author credits in refereed publications.
