Adam Smith is a Senior Chemist at The Chemours Company (formerly DuPont) conducting research on novel Teflon® products in Washington, West Virginia. After earning a B.S. in chemistry and math from Fairmont State University and his Ph.D. from the University of Virginia in synthetic polymer chemistry, Adam held a National Research Council Research Associateship at Wright Patterson Air Force Base where we developed flexible solar cells made with electroactive polymers.
Adam has been involved with the First2 Network for over a year and is himself a first generation college graduate. He is very passionate about educating students and contributing to a limited but growing list of opportunities for rural STEM students and graduates that can be found in their own back yards.
