Vanecia spent over 20 years in the corporate sector before entering the nonprofit sector seven years ago. Her experience includes serving as the Regional Director of Community Affairs for TIAA-CREF. In this role she was responsible for developing and overseeing the strategy and implementation of the community outreach activities for over 20 offices. Her tenure at TIAA-CREF spanned nearly 18 years where she held several leadership positions including serving in senior relationship management roles. Vanecia and her team handled the most complex top tier clients with assets ranging from $200M to $800M.
Ms. Kerr received her BA in Political Science from Hampton University (VA) and a Masters in Public Administration from Baruch College (CUNY). She has also received several certificates in Corporate Citizenship and Corporate Social Responsibility from Boston College. Ms. Kerr is the recipient of numerous certificates and honors throughout her career including being recognized as one of the Top 25 Most Powerful Women by the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce (2018) and one of the Outstanding Women in Business by the Denver Business Journal (2018).
In terms of civic engagement, Ms. Kerr has a number of outstanding accomplishments. She is the founder of several organizations and has served on numerous boards. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Goodwill Industries of Denver and was appointed by Governor John Hickenlooper to serve on the Colorado Commission on Higher Education in 2014 and re-appointed by Governor Jared Polis in 2019. She is a highly experienced public speaker credited with over 250 speaking engagements with audience sizes ranging from 20 to 2000; this includes serving as a keynote speaker, expert panelist and facilitator for various local and national organizations including the Clinton Global Initiative and Boston College’s Center for Corporate Citizenship.
Ms. Kerr is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (a public service sorority) and Jack and Jill of America, Inc. In her spare time she likes to volunteer, serve in her local church, watch movies and enjoy the many activities that Colorado has to offer with her husband and 17 year old son.
