Shea Gopaul has recently been appointed as the International Employer Organisation’s (IOE) Special Representative to the UN.  She is the Founder and Executive Director Emeritus of the Global Apprenticeship Network (GAN), a public private partnership that created 9 million opportunities for youth, set up 15 GAN local networks and advocated through social media and large symposiums the merits of employer driven education.  Prior to this she worked with the UN, WHO and ILO and has lived and worked in Mauritius, Gabon, Morocco and Switzerland. She is a Fellow of the IZA Institute of Labour Economics,  an International Gender Champion, a graduate from Columbia University’s Teacher’s College and recipient of an Honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters from Point Park University.
