Dr. Jonathan Hershey is Dean of Humanities and Professor of English at Georgia Highlands College. He serves as Director of the Georgia Highlands African American and Minority Male Excellence (GHAME) and Brother 2 Brother, initiatives to improve college success rates for minority men. He has received the Governor’s Award in the Humanities; Child Advocate of the Year by the Rome-Floyd County Commission on Children and Youth; Heart of the Community Award of Honor; the MLK Commission Community Service Award; the African American Male Initiative Leadership Award; and the SCLC Leadership Award. Through Georgia Highlands College’s partnership with the 100 Black Men of Rome-Northwest Georgia, he is co-director of Foundation Camp, a summer camp for boys.
