Dr. Steve Efe is an assistant professor at Morgan State University in the School of Engineering. He earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Ibadan and received his P.hD. in Civil Engineering from Morgan State University. His research interests include education research, adaptive materials and construction techniques, high performance material testing and simulations, material modeling and computational mechanics. His education research investigates innovations and practices, and ways to empirically understand how minority engineering students’ competitive advantage in the industry can be improved.  He is a PI for the e4usa+FIRST program, which aims to democratize engineering education for all.  He is also a PI for other projects including Developing Transportation Engineers for the Industry and Autonomous Robotic System for Damage Detection, both aiming to prepare future workforce in the transportation field.
