Originally from Germany, but raised in San Antonio, Texas, Destinee’s passion for both culture and travel comes naturally. After graduating from Texas State University with her Bachelors in Applied Sociology, Destinee began her career with students and community advocacy. Through this work, the need for mental health services became clear in order for students to be successful both in and outside the classroom. Now pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Clark Atlanta University and serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, Destinee plans on using her skills to integrate mental health services while helping students achieve their academic goals. Destinee has presented at multiple conferences and professional development events covering topics such as; how trauma impacts eating behaviors in the African American community, expanding behavioral health programs at HBCU’s and providing mental health services for First-Generation College Students. She humbly serves as the Graduate SGA President elect for the 2022-2023 academic school year at Clark Atlanta University and is excited for the opportunity to learn as she advocates for her student body.
