Curtis Biggs is Director of the Trustees Education Initiative (TEI) UW-E4® model for the College of Education at the University of Wyoming (UW). Established by the UW Board of Trustees in 2014, TEI is a thoughtfully designed innovation engine that continuously conceptualizes, pilots, launches, and supports high-impact educator preparation programs and technologies.
As UW-E4® Director, Biggs is a driver of the TEI mission to transform the K-12 education system in Wyoming, produce the nation’s highest quality teachers, and set the bar for educator preparation nationwide. Generously supported by the Daniels Fund, TEI takes a unique and comprehensive view of the educator preparation journey, reaching students long before they enroll in the College of Education to long after they graduate.
As a leader in student affairs, educator professional development, and distance education, Biggs has enjoyed service in education and youth programming for over 15 years, through higher education administration, governmental appointment, and policy and development consultancy roles.
Biggs has contributed to workforce investment boards in Wyoming, South Dakota, New Jersey, and Montana, has served on the Denver Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank Economic Education Advisory Board. Biggs earned degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the University of Montana, and is currently completing a Ph.D. in International Educational Leadership at the University of Montana.
