Aron Wahkinney is an enrolled member of the Comanche Nation of Oklahoma. He has worked in tribal public health for eight years and has focused primarily on substance use prevention among Native American youth. His previous work experience includes the Comanche Nation Prevention and Recovery Department and the Southern Plains Tribal Health Board/Oklahoma Area Tribal Epidemiology Center where he spent four years managing various SAMHSA grants. He obtained his Master of Science in Wellness Management: Health Promotion from the University of Central Oklahoma in May 2020 and has recently joined the Denver Indian Health and Family Services as the Contracts and Grants Program Manager where he now manages multiple federal, state, and foundational grants and programs.
