Anna Butsay has worked as an educator and curriculum designer for over a decade. Eight years of her professional career she spent working as a language and culture instructor and language learning consultant for the Department of State’s Foreign Service Institute. She has designed and developed textbooks and learning experiences (including virtual reality games) for Foreign Service officers using adult learning theory and emerging second language acquisition research. Ms. Butsay also has experience applying current research regarding cognition and memory retention to create user-driven learning experiences. For the past two years, she has been working as a Senior Instructional Designer at Georgetown University developing online and hybrid courses across a broad range of subject areas. She recently completed an Executive Certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from Georgetown University.
