Andy Ward is an enrolled member of the Oglala Lakota Tribe, as well as a direct descendant of the Yakama Indian Nation. He attended The Evergreen State College where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in indigenous studies and social work.
Andy has been the reentry program manager at the Chief Seattle Club for the past year and has grown the program over 300%. His passion is to help relatives who have been impacted from the judicial system and his drive is to see them succeed. He manages the Welcome Home House which houses 9 males and has a sweat lodge on the property.
He currently works with Workforce Development (WDC) and Seattle Jobs Initiative (SJI) to assist in finding people jobs after they release from prison or jail. He is a strong advocate and continues to work with other reentry programs and tribal programs to reach as many relatives as possible.
He is also a certified Fire Starter for the Wellbriety program which helps guide participants to live a sober and culturally grounded life.
