GlobalMindED convenes thought leaders from the ground level to the highest levels of academia, government, business and non-profits to solve the greatest issues we face in creating a capable, diverse talent pipeline through access and equity for all.

All submitted proposals will go through a peer-review process by our advisory board. If accepted, session descriptions outlined in the proposal submissions will be published in the conference program and website. When submitting your proposal, please indicate your preferred session format from the ones described below.

SESSION FORMATS

Breakout Panel (50 minutes):
Track-based sessions with one panel leader and up to four panelists focused on innovative outcomes, sharing perspectives and evidence in an interactive format; plan 10-15 minutes for audience participation. All panel submissions will indicate which Track and Thread will be addressed. Please note: A/V is not available for this session format.

Tracks

Idea Café/Poster Session (50 minutes): Solo cocktail tables during the breakfast hour (8 am – 9 am); plan for 5-10 minutes per encounter, with cards or handouts.

Deeper Dive (1 hour 50 minutes): A deeper exploration of a particular issue, with evidence based outcomes and blueprint to scale (A/V provided).

Presentation (50 minutes): 1-3 people presenting on how an issue has been solved and tactics for implementation; plan 10-15 minutes for audience participation (A/V provided).

Problem-Solving Lab (1 hour 50 minutes): EdCAMP format, where participants solve major issues – could be product dev, management issue, etc.; design thinking or rapid prototyping format (A/V provided).

Roundtable (50 minutes): Intimate, fully interactive format; 12-16 participants presided over by an expert on a specific topic (A/V provided).

Workshop (50 minutes): Based on action outcomes – two to four facilitators with table based discussions; plan 10 minutes for reporting out (A/V provided).

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION

Each session is based on how things get done, key stakeholders, measurements and ability to bring about change at scale. Participants do not spend time talking about their background; time should be devoted to unique, innovative work and what it has achieved. Sessions will be selected based on the following criteria:

  • Diversity of people and perspectives
  • Specifics of how to solve a complex issue in the area of access and equity
  • Evidence-based solutions to our toughest pipeline problems
  • Demonstrating a unique, innovative and effective approach
  • Sharing potential pitfalls and hazards faced in the field
  • Information is impartial to specific products and services
  • Providing concrete and specific takeaways
  • Involving the audience in creative and constructive engagement

Requirements for Presenting

  • Accepted speakers will register at a special fee of $400
  • Cover their own travel and lodging expenses
  • Present on the determined date
  • Provide any supporting materials for the website

  • Presenter Registration Deadline: Upon Acceptance
